The Tunturi is a unique, well-designed hotel with a main central building as its focal point, including the reception, restaurant and bar, where musical entertainment is on offer every evening. The hotel is popular among returning guests and prides itself on its friendly service and excellent food.
The well established, comfortable accommodation buildings are set in a charming wooded area near the cross-country ski trails, within an easy 2-3 minute walk of the main Tunturi building. Most room types have a private sauna, and whilst all the bedrooms are comfortable, the Family Suites do offer that extra bit of space in which to spread out.

All meals for all 5 room-types are served in the main central building. There is a super range of family rooms and suites available in different shapes and sizes, as follows.

Type A Bedrooms, sleep 2-4 – with twin beds and a double sofa-bed (suitable for one adult or two children), private en suite shower, wc, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, hairdryer and tea/coffee/ cocoa-making facilities.
Single room supplement: £24.95 per night.

Type B Family Suites, sleep 3-4 – twin bedroom and a separate lounge with double sofa-bed, sharing private sauna/shower/wc, minibar, hairdryer and tea/coffee/cocoa-making facilities.
Supplement: £7.95 per person per night.

Type C Family Suites, sleep 5-6 – two twin bedrooms and a separate lounge with double sofa-bed, sharing private sauna/shower/wc, further separate wc, minibar, hairdryer and tea/coffee/ cocoa-making facilities. These suites may be on two levels with an internal staircase with stair-gates.
Supplement: £7.95 per person per night.

The hotel’s new ‘Gielas’ wing, due to open in November 2008, aims to provide the highest standards in Saariselkä, and is just 2-3 minutes walk from the main Tunturi building. The Gielas will offer spacious and stylish family rooms plus a small range of boutiques.

Gielas Type D Family Bedrooms, sleep 2-4 – two single beds and a double sofa-bed, (suitable for one adult or two children), private en suite bath/shower, wc, sauna, balcony, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, hairdryer, and tea/coffee/cocoa-making facilities.

Gielas Type E Family Bedrooms, sleep 3-4 – as type D, but more spacious.
Supplement: £3.95 per person per night on Gielas basic price.
